People don’t wake up one day behaving uncharacteristically, a lot of behaviours are learned, but once learned a lot of them stick. Oftentimes the first time someone sees someone do something isn’t the first time they’ve done it. It’s common for people to hear acquaintances tell the same story to everyone, I’ve witnessed it myself, often without them acknowledging they’ve told the same story before – and why would they, they want it to be new to everyone they tell, and hopefully draw the same response from everyone they meet.
The same applies to crimes, people don’t just wake up one day committing crimes, and often the first time a crime is perceived isn’t the first time the criminal has committed that type of crime. Someone breaks into a car; likelihood is they’ve broken into cars before. Someone uses forged currency; likelihood is they’ve done it before. There is only ever one first time, and little chance that any given victim of a crime is the first instance of it. Part of the problem with criminals getting away with crime is the likelihood, not only that the crime in question wasn’t their first, but also that their behaviour is part of a pattern, and they’ll reoffend as a continuation of the pattern, until apprehended.
I realised when people started audibly harassing me in April 2016 that it’s likely a pathological type and their background and previous patterns of behaviour should be scrutinised, as beyond the ongoing crimes against me they likely would have done this before, and would likely do so again in future.
It’s a real shame that perverse gratification of the type displayed by the abusers has been allowed to continue uninterrupted while no one has made any attempt to look behind the curtain to determine where these people came from or what they were doing before they started stalking me. Maybe someone thought they would stop, but pathology doesn’t stop, and I don’t see that there is much merit in not addressing it appropriately, particularly for a community damaged by the obsessive behaviour. Unaddressed issues simply get worse, and these people have been obsessively abusive for so long we need to know where they came from and what they were doing before they came here.
